What denomination is the Grand Central Church of Christ?
We are a non-denominational body of Christian believers. Dedicated to serving God and obeying his will as revealed by the Spirit in the Bible, we continually study the Bible as our guide for faith, religious teaching and practice. We are neither Protestant nor Catholic. We are Christians only, those who love Jesus, even as we recognize we are not the only Christians.
We are not a member of any controlling denominational council, diocese, convention or association. The reason for this is simple—we do not find such in the scripture. We encourage Christians, and congregations of believers, to cooperate and discuss matters of importance but believe this should be done without denominational entanglements. Our head is Christ.
What do you believe about salvation?
Salvation is a gift of God found only in Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23; John 14:6).

What can I expect when I visit an assembly of the Grand Central Church of Christ?
You can expect to be warmly welcomed by people who care about you.
If you arrive at 9:30 on Sunday morning or 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening (or at another Bible Class) you can expect to find a group of people opening their Bibles as they seek to discern God’s will for their lives. Some classes are more lecture-oriented while others include discussion. There area several adult classes and classes for children and teens.
If you are our guest at 10:30 on Sunday morning, 6:00 on a Sunday evening or 7:00 on Wednesday evening (and you attend PT@GC) you are invited to join with us in worshiping our God.
You’ll quickly notice we love to sing praises to God and that the words of the songs are designed to teach and encourage those in attendance (Colossians 3:16). The only instrument of music that we use is our hearts (Ephesians 5:19).
On Sunday mornings we set aside time to remember Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross. As in the first century this is done as we share bread and the fruit of the vine. During this time we are reminded that it is only through Christ’s sacrifice that we have been able to become his (1 Corinthians 11:17-34).
A collection is taken each Sunday. This is when members are asked to give to support the work of this congregation (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 8:1-15). As you wouldn’t ask a guest at your table to “pay for their meal,” so we do not ask or expect our guests to give.
At various times during our assemblies prayers will be offered by different members (1 Timothy 2:1-8). These reflect our dependence upon God and our desire for his leading in our lives.
The Bible will be read and referred to quite often. Whether it is a public reading of scripture or preaching (1 Timothy 4:13), the Bible serves as the basis for all that is taught.
Frequently there will also be a greeting, occasionally a time when we’re asked to greet one another, and always announcements to let those in attendance know what is going on in the life of the church. For more information on this be sure to pick up one of our bulletins.
