Truth & Justice
The Sundays of July 6 & 13 will be a time when the church focuses on the biblical concepts of truth and justice. The Old Testament Prophets (like Isaiah & Amos) will provide the majority of the texts reviewed but there will also be time spent on Jesus' presentation of these concepts (like Luke 10 & Matthew 25).

Ancient Words
The Sundays of July 20-August 17 the morning sermons will focus on some "Ancient Words" of the Christian faith. Words like Obey, Atonement, Sanctify, and Hospitality.

Ryan Ice joins staff

Ryan Ice was invited by Grand Central's Shepherds to begin working full-time with families with children and youth. Most recently Ryan, with Cody Balch, had been serving as a "summer intern" working primarily with youth. He served as the Director of this year's Mid-Ohio Valley Work Camp and has been actively involved in Youth, Powell, and other ministries for a number of years.

Sunday, July 6, the Shepherds of the church presented him to the congregation and, following the biblical example of 1 Timothy 4, prayed and laid hands on him asking for God to bless him (and his wife, Jessie) as he and the church begin a new chapter in life.

     The "Name the Newsletter" contest winner has been chosen and will be announced soon! Thanks to all the creative entries.
     The Spring 2008 edition included stories on VBS, the Honduras Mission Team, Fred Burrows in Papau New Guinea, and much more. Be looking for the Summer 2008 edition (due out in early July) as it will be bigger, better, more informative, and enjoyable.

Involvement Minister Search

The Grand Central Church has initiated a nationwide search for an involvement minister. Major responsibilities include aiding in ministries coordination, encouraging effective member involvement, and overseeing a growing small groups ministry. The entire church has been asked to pray for God's guidance during this process.

Sunday Evenings in August "Month of Renewal"

With an early start on July 27, the month of August has been designated a "month of renewal" for the Grand Central Church. During this month all Community Groups will be taking a "break" before they launch for the fall.

The four week schedule promises to have many opportunities to reach out to others, enjoy fellowship, and encourage relational and spiritual growth!
