Joe Spivy has served as the preaching & teaching minister of the Grand Central Church of Christ since January 30, 2002. He is married to the Melissa "Missy" Flatt Spivy, formerly of Morehead, Kentucky, who has a Doctorate in Curriculum Development (MUGC, 2010) and is an assistant professor at West Virginia University-Parkersburg. They have three children (Leah Delbaugh, J.T. Spivy, and Anna Spivy), one son-in-law (Cory Delbaugh), and one granddaughter (Parker Carolyn Delbaugh).
Joe is the son of a preacher and a preacher's daughter (Joe and Eloise Spivy of Jasper, Alabama). Joe graduated from Satna Fe High School (Alachua, Florida), Alabama Christian College (Faulkner University), and Freed-Hardeman University. He hopes to complete work on a MACM from Harding School of Theology in 2012. In addition to his work with Grand Central he also teaches Bible courses (Old Testament Survey, Life of Christ, Introduction to the Bible, Integration of Biblical Principles, and Business Ethics) at Ohio Valley University and has taught and led several OVU summer international studies groups in Italy.
