Joe Spivy became the pulpit minister of the Grand Central Church of Christ in February 2002. Joe grew up in High Springs, Florida (and TN, WV & KY) and graduated from Alabama Christian College (Faulkner University) and Freed-Hardeman University.

It was at Freed-Hardeman that he met the former Melissa "Missy" Flatt of Morehead, Kentucky. They were married in 1982. Missy is an instructor in the Education and Humanities Division at West Virginia University-Parkersburg.  Joe also serves as an adjunct instructor at Ohio Valley University (Bible, Sign Language, and International Studies). They have be blessed by God with three children.  Leah is married to Cory Delbaugh and they live in Parkersburg.  J.T. is a student at OVU and Anna is a student at Wood County Christian School.
